If you are new to IPHONE as I was this is a wonderful compilations of apps and opinions on these apps that just get a person in all kinds of trouble. You know like information overload, makes the IPHONE really useful and fun. It may drive some people a little crazy and can get you buying some expensive apps. Just remember if it gets too crazy; delete it. Be aware of duplication in apps and really read the help.

There are so many apps that a guide like this is definitely a help. However, this one has some problems. The most obvious one is that it was published in 2010--so it is hopelessly out of date. Even with that, it could give some good suggestions for the kinds of things apps can do. A bigger problem to me was that the author seemed to focus in on his own interests and hobbies. He's evidently really into comic book reading and taking panorama photographs, as there are multiple apps for both those interests. There is a difference between what games appeal to the guys, and what appeals to us women. I didn't care for any of his game app suggestions. Different strokes for different folks, I guess, and this author and I don't have the same taste. The only winning app I got from this book was Talking Carl, which is a real hoot for kids. Now I'm reading Incredible iPad Apps for Dummies, which I am enjoying more, even though it, too, is dated.

This book is well laid-out so you can find the apps you are looking for grouped by subject matter. The reviews of the apps are honest and informative. I would prefer a book that listed more apps that, perhaps, included 4-star apps as well.
