5.0 out of 5 stars Easily the best phone in this price range, May 14, 2017

This review is from: LG Stylo 3 - Prepaid - Carrier Locked - Boost Mobile (Wireless Phone Accessory)
    Pros:
    Big(-ger) screen
    Excellent audio quality and volume
    Fingerprint scanner
    octacore processor

    Cons
720p resolution on the said big screen
    2gb/ram 16gb internal memory
    lack of NFC
    Adoptable Storage setting disabled

Stylus feels and writes great even though I am afraid it might break if I scribble too hard, but I almost never take it out in the first place anyway.
Touch screen feels way too sensitive sometimes but it's no biggie. Picture quality feels acceptable at best even with all the big numbers attached to camera specs.

Expanding a bit on pros/cons list, the 720p at 5.7 inch screen: while normally I wouldn't mind it(I certainly didn't mind 720 on 5.5 screen on my last phone) but for some reason I can see distortions on bright backgrounds (like homescreen wallpapers or while on browser) if I stare at it hard enough. Maybe it's just me being overly critical, or maybe its the type of screen LG puts in these things that are different than what I am used to but I am trying to look past it and it still bugs me out even after using the phone for a week now.

2GB of ram isn't much of an issue after trying out the phone for a while, everything is reasonably snappy while I switch back and forth different apps. However the 16gb internal memory (you only get to install about 8gb worth of things) can be a dealbreaker for a lot of people. I guess there are microsd cards for that but LG has decided to disable the adoptable storage.

Fingerprint scanner is just beautiful. I expected the slow put my finger on and wait 2~3 seconds before anything happens type of deal from old laptop finger scanners. But this guy just unlocks the moment I put my finger on the scanner, just loving it.

Great phone for price if you are in the market for it. Fingerprinting and stylus are both excellent. Performance exceeds satisfactory and your multimedia experience will be reasonably good unless you put your eyes right in front of the screen. Small amount of internal memory can be a hassle for a lot of people but simple googling can give you a cheap way around it.

I decided to buy a latest 128gb sd card (the one that advertises U3 100mb/s speed and came out a month ago - check it out at amazon phone accessory section) and force enabled adoptable storage and stored a couple of 3D games there to see how it pans out. Before I started I ran memory benchmark and internal memory came in at 170mb/s while SD card only came in at 58mb/s (figures the advertised speed is only for those professional grade cameras or something). Anyway I have tried hearthstone, GTA san andreas and vainglory on SD card and they are all running well and smooth with the exception of hearthstone, going back and forth the non gaming areas(like main screen to play screen into starting the actual game) takes forever on a sd card. Luckily moving an app back and forth the internal to sd isn't much of an hassle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Skeptical, BUT SO WORTH IT, April 14, 2017

So I've had all three Stylo's how and this one knocks the other two out of the park. The Stylo 2 is a great phone, don't get me wrong, but this phone is obscenely fast. Granted I've only ever owned Virgin Mobile prepaid phones, this is still the best one I've ever had. I was skeptical about buying this because of no reviews, and never hearing of the company before but I'm so glad I took the chance. I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase and the phone arrived a lot faster than I thought it would.

If you don't have much money and you want a decent phone, go with the Stylo 2. If you have a little extra to spend and want something with a little more speed, the Stylo 3 is the way to go.

I'll definitely purchase my next cell phone through this company.

Love your phone. This has some very cool features that I don't see on some of the higher priced phones. For example I can either type speak or write with my finger or the stylus in texting or any other application. It has smart applications that are easily used by even the newest people to the smartphone industry. I can easily block unwanted calls text take pictures take screenshots this is probably the most first a wonderful phone that you will find and I'll put it up against the newer phones any day. Takes great photos with true to life colors. Video is awesome to.
